Instructions to make dairy free banana gingerbread muffins
Mix together wet ingredients.
Add in dry ingredients and mix again. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
Add batter to muffin tin and bake.

Ingredients for healthy banana gingerbread muffins
- bananas
- flax seeds
- maple syrup
- almond bytter
- coconut sugar
- avocado oil
- vanilla
- oat flour
- oats
- baking powder
- chocolate chips
Substitutions
- maple syrup - can be subbed with honey.
- spelt flour - this can be subbed with whole wheat, all purpose, or all purpose GF flour.
- chocolate chips - these can be omitted if desired.
Recipe FAQS
No spelt flour is not gluten free. Use a gluten free all purpose flour if you would like to make this recipe gluten free.
I do believe that flax eggs would work but I have not tried.

Equipment
Ingredients
Wet
- 2 mashed large bananas
- 2 medium eggs
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup molasses
Dry
- 1 ⅔ cup spelt flour all purpose flour also works
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon cloves or allspice optional but does enhance gingerbread flavor
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Add all wet ingredients to a bowl and mix. Pour in dry ingredients except for the chocolate chips and mix again. Lastly fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop batter into a silicone or lined muffin tin, filling each tin ¾ of the way. I used an ice cream scooper to do this.
- Bake muffins for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

would it mess up the muffins if I left out the chocolate chips? I just want gingerbread banana flavor...thank you for this recipe
