    Japanese Sweet Potato Fries with Tahini Cheese Sauce

    My life seriously changed when I discovered japanese sweet potatoes. They are so flavorful and crisp up easier than regular sweet potatoes. I like to make a meal out of one potato by making fries with tahini sauce, parsley for extra veggies, and hemp seeds for extra protein. These Japanese Sweet Potato Fries with Tahini Cheese Sauce are my go to easy meal, perfect for dinner, lunch or as a side.

    I will eat these fries as a meal sometimes because the tahini sauce is so filling. They are seriously so delicious. The fresh parsley adds a nice boost of veggies to this recipe. So delicious.

    How to make japanese sweet potato fries

    1. Coat the japanese sweet potato fries in oil and spices. Bake for 30 minutes until crisp.
    2. Make the tahini cheese sauce by mixing all of the ingredients together in a bowl.
    3. Drizzle tahini sauce over fries and top with fresh chopped parsley.

    • japanese sweet potato
    • salt
    • pepper
    • oil
    • garlic powder
    • tahini
    • all purpose seasoning
    • tahini
    • apple cider vinegar
    • nutritional yeast
    • maple syrup
    • miso
    • water
    • parsley
    • hemp seeds (optional)

    Substitutions

    • The japanese sweet potato can be subbed with a regular sweet potato or white potato
    • Tahini could be subbed with cashew butter

    Ingredients

    Fries

    • 1 japanese sweet potato - sliced into fries
    • salt/pepper to taste
    • 1-2 tablespoon oil
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp italian or all purpose seasoning (optional)

    Sauce

    • ¼ cup tahini
    • 1 tsp miso (or sub soy sauce)
    • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
    • 1 tsp maple syrup
    • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • ¼ tsp garlic powder
    • ¼ cup water

    + ½ cup finely chopped parsley and optional ¼ cup hemp seeds for extra protein

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
    2. Toss fries in oil and spices. Add fries to a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.Roast for 30-40 minutes, until crisp.
    3. Make your tahini sauce by mixing together all sauce ingredients in a bowl, adding in the water last.
    4. Drizzle sauce on fries and top with parsley and hemp seeds.
