Recipe Pro-Tips
For the best tasting salmon buy frozen cod filets. Most "fresh" cod you purchase in the store has been previously frozen, any time the cod is left out thawing makes the fish taste much fishier. The exception to this is if you go to a fish shop and it is locally caught (which is rare). I love Wild Alaskan Co Cod you can use code avocadoskillet for 20% off your first box here.
Don’t overcook the cod. It cooks quickly and can turn rubbery fast. Start checking around the 5-minute mark and remove it as soon as it flakes easily.
Use good quality broth. Since the broth is a main component, a high-quality bone broth or stock makes a noticeable difference in flavor. I love Kettle and Fire and code avocadoskillet gets you 20% off.
