Recipe FAQS
Yes! The almond butter helps make the texture creamier and less icy, but you can omit it if you have a nut allergy or prefer not to use it.
For best texture and cookie chunks, stir the crushed cookies in after blending the base. Blending them in can make the ice cream too smooth and lose that cookies-and-cream feel.
Yes! Cottage cheese adds protein and healthy fats, making this a more balanced, nutritious option compared to traditional ice cream.
Recipe Pro-Tips
For the best flavor and texture, use a high-quality, full-fat cottage cheese—my favorites are Good Culture and Kalona SuperNatural. While low-fat cottage cheese will work, it may result in a more icy consistency.
To ensure the health benefits of this ice cream, use healthy oreos. I like Back to Nature or Simple Mills.
