Yes this chia seed pudding is healthy enough for breakfast!
I do not suggest doing this as it will alter the consistency and flavor of the chia pudding. If you must leave out the protein powder then add in an extra tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 tablespoon of sweetener and ½ teaspoon of vanilla.
I love this chia pudding topped with homemade granola.

Use a good tasting protein powder for the best tasting chia pudding. I recommend using a whey vanilla protein for this recipe and my favorites are Ballerina Farms and Mindy Body green. High Protein Banana Cream Pie Chia Pudding
Equipment
- 1 blender
Ingredients
main ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 scoop whey vanilla protein powder Can sub vegan protein but may need a splash more liquid
- ¼ cup plain or vanilla greek yogurt can sub a thick vegan yogurt
- ½ cup whole milk or sub milk of choice
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons chia seeds
optional toppings
- 2-4 tablespoons greek yogurt
- 1-2 teaspoons cacao nibs
- 2-4 slices banana or fruit of choice
Instructions
- Add bananas, yogurt, protein powder, cinnamon and milk to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Add chia seeds to a jar, bowl or glass. Pour in banana mixture and mix together until combined.
- Refrigerate chia pudding for at least one hour or over night. Top with yogurt, cacao nibs and additional fruit if using. Dig in and enjoy.
