    Mediterranean Air Fried Japanese Sweet Potato Fries with Yogurt Sauce

    I am obsessed with japanese sweet potatoes. They have such a delicious flavor and crisp up better than regular sweet potatoes. These Mediterranean Air Fried Japanese Sweet Potato Fries with Yogurt Sauce are a delicious way to enjoy japanese sweet potatoes.

    You can sub out regular sweet potatoes in this recipe, however I encourage you to try japanese sweet potatoes if you have access to them. I also included instructions for baking these fries in case you don't have an air fryer.

    Let's get into the recipe.

    These air fryer mediterranean japanese sweet potato fries are

    What do I need to make air fried mediterannean fries?

    • japanese sweet potato or sub a regular potato
    • garlic powder
    • za'atar
    • paprika
    • salt
    • black pepper
    • oil
    • lemon
    • yogurt
    • olive oil
    • garlic
    • dill

    Instructions to make air fried sweet potato fries with yogurt sauce

    1. Toss together fries with spices, oil and lemon.
    2. Add fries to your air fryer in an even layer. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking once halfway through. If you don't have an air fryer your can bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
    3. Mix together your yogurt sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
    4. Serve fries with yogurt sauce and enjoy.

    Ingredients

    Fries

    • 1 small japanese sweet potato or sub a regular potato
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp za'atar
    • 1 tsp paprika
    • 1 tsp salt
    • black pepper to taste
    • 1 tbsp oil
    • juice from ½ lemon

    Yogurt Sauce

    • ½ cup yogurt
    • juice from ½ lemon
    • pinch salt/pepper
    • 1 garlic clove - minced
    • ¼ cup fresh chopped dill
    • ¼ cup olive oil

    Instructions

    1. Toss together fries with spices, oil and lemon.
    2. Add fries to your air fryer in an even layer. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking once halfway through. If you don't have an air fryer your can bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.

      Just made this today. Absolutely amazing dish! It’s tasty, crunchy, smooth and tastes lighter than you’d expect for fries!

      I’m not big on French fries so this is my new favorite substitute.
