Crispy chickpeas are one of my favorite foods. There is something about the crunchy salty flavor of them, yum. I also love how you can customize the flavor. These Crispy Sriracha Maple Chickpeas (Air Fryer) are my latest chickpea recipe and they are so good!
These chickpeas can be made in the air fryer or oven roasted. I included instructions for both. These chickpeas are the perfect amount spicy with just a touch of sweetness. I love them, they make the perfect higher in protein vegan snack.

Instructions to make sweet and spicy crispy chickpeas
- Add chickpeas to a bowl and toss with sriracha, oil, garlic powder, maple syrup, salt and pepper.
- Air fryer: Add chickpeas to an even layer to your air fryer. Air fry at 400 degrees for 10-13 minutes, until crisp.
- Oven: Add chickpeas to a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 425 degrees until crisp.
- Eat chickpeas on their own or as a salad or bowl topper.

Can I cook these in an oven?
Yes, I included instructions for both the oven and air fryer!
Storage instructions
The extra chickpeas can be stored in a sealed container in your fridge for up to 3 days. They will however lose their crisp after a day.
Substitutions
- sriracha - can be subbed with hot sauce
- maple syrup - can be omitted or subbed with honey

- 1 can chickpeas - drained and patted dry
- ¼-1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to your preference
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
