Salted Caramel Apple Frozen Yogurt Bites are a fun, high-protein snack that combine the flavors of a classic caramel apple with creamy yogurt and rich chocolate. Dates, apple, yogurt, and almond butter are mixed into clusters, then frozen until firm. The frozen bites are dipped in melted dark chocolate with coconut oil for a smooth, crisp shell. A sprinkle of flaky sea salt finishes them off for a sweet-salty treat you can keep in the freezer for weeks.

Ingredients for peanut free snickers
- Dates – Add natural sweetness and chewiness while helping to bind the clusters together.
- Apple – Brings fresh, crisp texture and a tart-sweet flavor that pairs with caramel notes.
- Thick Yogurt (Greek, Skyr, or Dairy-Free) – Provides creaminess, tang, and protein, forming the base of the clusters.
- Almond Butter (or other nut butter) – Adds richness, healthy fats, and helps the mixture stick together.
- Dark Chocolate Chips – Create a decadent coating for the clusters and balance the fruity sweetness.
- Coconut Oil – Ensures the chocolate melts smoothly and coats evenly without clumping.
- Flaky Sea Salt – Enhances flavor and provides a little crunch that balances the sweetness.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1
Mix together cluster ingredients.

Step 2
Form clusters and freeze.

Step 3
Dip in chocolate, coat with salt and freeze again.

Step 4
Serve and enjoy!
Storage instructions
I recommend storing the clusters in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 3 days because this gives them the soft ice cream like texture.
You can also freeze them for 3 months and thaw them out as you want to eat them.
Recipe Pro-Tips
Be sure the clusters are completely frozen before dipping them in chocolate; otherwise, they’ll soften and turn messy. You can freeze them overnight if you don't want to wait around for them to harden.
Always include the oil when melting the chocolate - it helps keep the chocolate smooth and prevents clumping.
I do not suggest using non greek/skyr dairy yogurt as it will be way too liquidy. You can use vegan yogurt but make sure it is thick!
If you want these too be sweeter use vanilla yogurt. I wanted to cut down on the sugar content so I used plain.
Recipe FAQS
Yes, just use a thick vegan yogurt like coconut.
Dates are a naturally sweet fruit packed with fiber, antioxidants, and essential minerals like potassium and magnesium. They support digestion, boost energy, and may help reduce inflammation in the brain. Dates also make a great whole-food alternative to refined sugar in healthy recipes.
It depends on your preference, I like to eat mine slightly thawed as I do not like biting into frozen things.

- Spoon* out mixture onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper (a plate or other flat surface also works) into ~5-6 evenly sized clusters. Freeze for 1-2 hours or overnight, until hardened. I have found that dairy yogurt takes longer to freeze than non dairy.

- Dunk each cluster in dark chocolate. Sprinkle over the flaky salt. Freeze again for 10-15 minutes, until set. Dig in and enjoy!**
