Roasted Garlic Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- ½ bulb garlic
- ½ teaspoon olive oil
- 2 pieces sourdough or hearty bread of choice
- 1-2 tablespoons butter
- ½-2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Add garlic to a sheet pan lined with tin foil.
- Drizzle olive oil over the garlic. Fold up the tin foil and close it over the garlic. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Coat the outside of two slices of bread with desired amount of butter. Coat the other side of one half of the bread with the roasted garlic. Add cheese to the inside of the other slice of bread. Fold together the grilled cheese.
- Add another tablespoon or so of butter or oil to a pan over medium heat. Add grilled cheese with the cheese side down. Heat for 3-5 minutes and then flip and repeat. If you are using a thick sourdough like I did I recommend pressing down with a potato masher or spatula while cooking.
- Serve and enjoy.
