I do not suggest doing this as it will alter the consistency and flavor of the overnight oats. If you must leave out the protein powder then add in 1 tablespoon of sweetener and additional cocoa.
I like to top my chia pudding with fresh fruit, cacao nibs and bee pollen.
Recipe Pro-Tips
Use a good tasting protein powder for the best tasting chia pudding. My favorite whey proteins are Ballerina Farms and Mind Body Green.
I recommend using whey protein for this recipe as vegan protein absorbs more liquid.

High Protein Chocolate Covered Strawberry Overnight Oats
Equipment
- 1 blender
Ingredients
- 6 strawberries
- 1 cup greek or skyr yogurt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- tiny pinch salt
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder can also use cacao
- 2 servings chocolate protein powder I recommend using whey protein, the linked one is delicious
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 cup oats
Optional toppings
- cacao nibs
- flaky salt
- additional fresh chopped fruit
Instructions
- Add strawberries, milk, vanilla, cocoa, salt and protein powder to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add the strawberry milk mixture to a mixing bowl with oats and chia seeds. Mix until combined.
- Refrigerate oats overnight or for at least 4 hours. Divide out and serve.
