Kit kats are a classic candy. Unfortunately, the ingredients in them are not great for us. Here comes my healthy kit kat. I used whole grain flours and no refined sugar. These healthy vegan kit kat bars (gluten free) have the chocolate wafer combo nailed down.

- coconut oil
- maple syrup
Instructions to make healthier vegan kit kat bars
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Make the shortbread layer. Whisk together flours and then combine coconut oil and syrup with a spatula.
- Split the batter between the two lined(with parchment paper) or silicone loaf pans. Bake for 15 minutes.
- After removing from oven, freeze for one hour.
- When your shortbread layer is finished freezing, make the chocolate layer. Combine coconut oil with cacao and maple syrup.
- Now assemble the layers. Pop one of the shortbread layers out of its loaf pan and set aside. Pour half of the chocolate mixture over the shortbread layer still in the loaf pan, letting the chocolate seep down the sides. Stack the shortbread layer that was removed on the chocolate covered layer. Pour the second half of the chocolate on top of the stacked layers and once again let the chocolate seep down.
- Freeze the assembled kit kat for ~ 15 minutes. Cut kit kats into slices and enjoy. These will keep for a few days in the fridge or a few weeks frozen.
