Instructions
Heat about ½-1 tablespoon butter (or oil) over medium heat. Add the apple slices and cook for 2-3 minutes each side. You want the apples to be browned and softened.
Butter or oil one side of each of the slices of bread. Add apple slices and then cheese to one half of the bread and then add the other half.
Add another tablespoon or so of butter or oil to a pan over medium heat. Add grilled cheese with the cheese side down. Heat for 3-5 minutes and then flip and repeat. If you are using a thick sourdough like I did I recommend pressing down with a potato masher or spatula while cooking.
Serve grilled cheese and enjoy.
Notes
*The amount you use will be dependent on your size of bread. I used two big pieces of sourdough and ½ cup was plenty for me.
