crispy general tso's brussels sprouts

These crispy general tso's brussels sprouts are a delicious way to enjoy brussels.

Ingredients
  

Brussels

  • ~4 cups brussels - stems removed and cut in half
  • 2 tablespoon arrowroot starch/powder or cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

General Tso's Sauce

  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sriracha or chili sauce
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 1 ½ tablespoon arrowroot starch/flour or cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ginger - minced

Other ingredients

  • +optional sides and garnishes like quinoa cilantro and sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Toss brussels in oil, salt, pepper and starch. Roast for 25-30 minutes until crisp.
  • Once your brussels are done roasting, set aside to cool and start your sauce. Whisk together sauce ingredients and then add to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer until sauce has thickened, whisking sauce to prevent clumps. This will take about 2 minutes.
  • Combine sauce with brussels and desired sides and toppings.
