Barista Style Oat Milk (vegan, gf)

I was averse to making my own plant milk at home for so long. For some reason I always assumed that it was too difficult to make and not worth it. I was so wrong!

This barista style oat milk takes 5 minutes tops to make and it is cheaper and more sustainable than buying in the store. Even better, I can control what I put in it and avoid added fillers and oils.

Ingredients

This makes 1 mason jar worth of milk

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk from a can
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 date (or sub 1 tbsp maple syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend on high for about 1 minute or until fully blended.
  2. Strain milk using a mesh bag or cheesecloth.
  3. Store refrigerated for up to 1 week.
